Anonymous asked: Hi, While discussing with firends and colleagues in Paris about the worldwide development of blogs dedicated to men's dress, I have remembered a question I asked you while browsing yours for the first time: what is your mission in seting up "O.G"? What this tool is designed to accomplish in your perspective? How do you make a difference? N.M
First I want to say that I appreciate your continued readership and support. I never imagined that I would be corresponding with gents residing in Paris when I first began this, so thank you.
I guess the simple way to answer your questions is to say that I don’t have a particular mission or perspective I hope to impart. I blog (re-blog) about menswear for the simple goal of educating myself as to the finer points of dressing well. For me this is an outlet to discuss and contribute what I feel is the kind of menswear I personally enjoy and hope to emulate in my personal life.
This site to me, isn’t a referendum on trends or things I would like to see other men embrace, but is more so the evolving outcomes that present themselves once a man owns his defined style. I am a fan of men embodying their own developed style, not just wearing nice clothes, be they expensive, thrifted or otherwise.
I never envisioned that this site would have the followership it does. It really amazes me and I’m thankful for it, but I promise you, I don’t get it. So many other blogs offer truly unique perspectives, and do a better job adding quality contributions to the global discussion of menswear. I’m still at a place in my life where I consume a lot of it, and so to the extent to which Ordinary Glory can help distill what I like most is about as relevant as I see this blog being for me or anyone else who follows.
All in all, this is really underwhelming to say, but I have no grand intentions for this site. I do it, because I love #menswear. I would do this if not a single person ever followed site.
Thanks again,
-Sam
The “Do it for the Shocked Velociraptor” Meetup - February 29th

Who remembers when Kiyoshi almost killed Kyle? I do! Fortunately for Kyle, Kiyoshi’s away on business in the Bay Area for awhile and is unable to make it to the next Meet-up on 29th.
Hopefully this time around, Kyle can keep from turning jovial conversations about jawnz into real life re-enactments of Mortal Kombat matches. All in all, you should come.
With that said, here are the specifics: Where: Miller’s Pub. 134 South Wabash Ave. When: Wednesday, February 29th at 8pm. Why: Why not? Tommy (suitsandboots), Meredith (canarycoal) and few others may show up. Come meet up with some familiar faces, new faces, and the like. -Sam

Love love the Patrick Johnson suit - amazing fabric, I hope you can notice in the pictures the way the light dapples on the cloth.
